ShieldNest is a free matching service. We are not a pest control company, and we do not inspect properties, apply pesticides, or tell you what treatment is right for your building.

What we do is simpler and more useful:

• Help you describe the pest problem in plain language
• Share typical cost ranges so pricing is less confusing
• Match you with licensed, state-certified pest control companies in your area
• Make it easier to compare plans, timing, and safety steps before you hire anyone

This can help if you are dealing with ants, roaches, mice, rats, termites, bed bugs, mosquitoes, or general pest issues. If you are not sure what pest you have, start with identify common house pests or go straight to get matched.

Important: matching is free to you. Participating pest control companies pay ShieldNest a flat fee to receive leads. You do not pay ShieldNest for the match.

How the process works, step by step

1. You tell us the basics. Share the pest you are seeing, where the issue is happening, and your contact details so local companies can reach you. We only need the details needed for matching. We do not need bank information, Social Security numbers, immigration status, or other sensitive records.

2. We help you understand the situation. We can show typical service types and honest cost ranges. These are estimates, not quotes. The real price depends on the pest, the size and condition of the property, how severe the infestation is, the plan, and your area. You can also review general costs.

3. You get matched with local companies. The companies should be licensed and state-certified to offer pest control services where you live. Even so, you should verify the license yourself before hiring.

4. You compare your options. Ask what pest they think it is, what treatment plan they recommend, how many visits may be needed, what prep work is required, and what safety steps they expect around children, pets, and food.

5. You choose who to hire. Or you choose not to hire anyone. That decision is always yours.

6. You confirm everything in writing. Before any treatment starts, confirm the price, the service plan, any follow-up visits, and safety instructions in writing.

What it costs you, and what pest control usually costs

Using ShieldNest costs you $0. There is no charge to submit your pest issue and get matched.

If you hire a pest control company, the treatment cost is separate and paid to that company. Prices vary a lot, so treat these as typical ranges only:

• One-time general pest treatment: about $150-$350
• Recurring pest plans: about $45-$120 per visit on a quarterly or bi-monthly schedule
• Rodent control: about $200-$600
• Termite treatment: about $500-$2,500+
• Bed bug treatment: about $300-$1,500+
• Seasonal mosquito service: about $70-$150 per visit

The real price depends on:

• The pest involved
• Size and condition of the property
• Severity of the infestation
• Whether the plan is one-time or recurring
• Your local market and timing

Pests can be stubborn. Sometimes one visit is enough for a small issue. Sometimes a problem needs repeat visits, exclusion work, monitoring, or seasonal service. That is why it helps to compare more than one option and review recurring pest control if the issue may not be one-and-done.

Your control and your safety come first

You are not handing the whole process over to a stranger. You stay in control. That means:
